Mamun A
My son is really improving since starting lessons with Mamun. From the start of the lesson getting almost all questions wrong to by the end completely understanding it all. Tested him a few days later and he got almost every question right without any help at all he remembered all the punctuation in all questions, shocked how much he's improved from just one lesson on it! Mamun's teaching is brilliant and it really seems to stick in my sons head. Also my son is very fussy with his ASD/ADHD and is often open about his feelings towards people, especially new people most often than not he will say he doesn't like this person because of this or that, but he said he likes his tutor and wants to do more lessons which is brilliant. Mamun is always on time, very patient and explains thoroughly, he gives brilliant feedback afterwards too. Highly recommend this tutor and I'm glad I chose him rather than someone else.

Brilliant English tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child hopes to apply to Sir George Monoux College. Can a tutor help them achieve the top English GCSE grades needed?
Absolutely. Many of our English tutors specialise in helping students aim for top grades (7-9) at GCSE. They can focus specifically on the analytical and essay-writing skills required to stand out and help your child build the confidence and knowledge needed to secure a place at a competitive sixth form.
We're worried about the competition for London universities like UCL. How can an English tutor help my child's application?
A strong foundation in English is crucial for a competitive university application. A tutor can help your child develop the high-level critical thinking and communication skills that top universities look for. This not only helps with A-Level performance but also with writing a powerful and persuasive personal statement.

Many tutors also offer a free video chat so you can speak to them before booking to ensure they're a great fit for your child.
What if my child doesn't click with their first English tutor?

Are all your tutors background-checked?
Yes, your child's safety is our top priority. Every single one of our tutors undergoes a thorough vetting process, including an identity check and a DBS background check, before they can teach on our platform.
How can a tutor help my child feel more confident in English?
Confidence often comes from understanding. In a one-to-one setting, your child has a safe space to ask questions they might not ask in class. Tutors can break down difficult topics, celebrate small wins, and adapt their teaching style, which helps your child feel capable and much more confident in their abilities.
How do online lessons work?
Our online lessons take place in a purpose-built online classroom. It features a video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and the ability to share documents and past papers. It's a simple, engaging, and effective way for your child to learn from the comfort of your home.
Can we get help with both English Language and English Literature?
Yes, definitely. Most of our GCSE and A-Level English tutors are experts in both English Language and Literature. You can mention your child's specific needs when you message a tutor to ensure they can cover all the texts and topics required by their exam board.
Do you only offer academic subjects, or can you help with other skills?
While we have fantastic tutors for core subjects like English, Maths, and Science, we also offer support in a huge range of other areas. You can find expert tutors for learning a musical instrument like the guitar, a new language, or practical skills like coding and public speaking.
How quickly can we expect to see results?
Every child learns at their own pace, but our experience shows that consistent, personalised support makes a real difference. 90% of our students improve by at least one grade. The key is the one-to-one focus, which allows tutors to target weak spots and build understanding right from the first lesson.
What happens in a typical one-to-one English lesson?
A typical lesson is tailored to your child's needs. It might start with a quick review of a previous topic, then move on to tackling a specific challenge, like analysing a poem, planning an essay, or working through a practice exam question. The tutor will provide instant feedback and encouragement throughout the session.
