Dyslexia tutor

Jo has been brilliant with my son. When we first contacted her she took the time to establish what Isaac needed help with, and continues to discuss this with us on a regular basis. Her lessons and always well planned and she gives feedback to us after each class. Jo’s calm, patient approach works well and her years of experience really show, I would have no hesitation in recommending her.

We can highly recommend Joanne. Our son has dyscalculia, finds maths particularly challenging and does not engage well with the subject at all. With his GCSEs pending and a real concern he may not pass his maths GSCE, we approached Joanne to see if she would be able to provide him with some extra support. We are so pleased we did. Our request of Joanne was to work with him to increase his general confidence with maths. This is exactly what she did. Taking time to assess his abilities during their first online lesson, working collabrately with my son's school maths teacher, and asking my son the areas he would like to focus. Joanne had a patient approach and was flexible with his learning needs, especially as his maths exams approached. Joanne engaged my son in maths - this had never been achieved before! Joanne took him back to basics and taught him maths techniques which should have been well established in earlier years, but which he had not retained well. This was not going to happen during his school class because the teacher had to progress through the curriculum. These techniques supported him well during his exams. My son's math's exam results have improved signifcantly since Joanne became involved in teaching him and we are incredibly grateful.
