This was my first lesson with Eva. I very much enjoyed the lesson. Very friendly, polite with a sense of humor. I am a beginner in dutch with only a little knowledge of the language and it is quite nerving to try speak the language but Eva made me very comfortable. I’m looking forward to many more hours of tutoring from Eva.

Brilliant Dutch tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
Dutch isn't taught at my child's school in Newcastle upon Tyne. Can a tutor help them get a GCSE or A-Level?
Absolutely. This is a very common reason parents come to us. Our tutors are experienced in guiding students through the entire curriculum for formal qualifications like GCSEs and A-Levels, even if they are studying it completely outside of school. They can cover the syllabus, help with exam technique, and build your child's confidence.
My child is considering applying to a university in the Netherlands. Can a tutor help with this?
Yes, many of our Dutch tutors can provide specific support for this. They can help your child reach the required level of language proficiency, practise conversational skills for interviews, and even help them understand the nuances of Dutch culture, giving them a strong foundation for their application and future studies.
How do I choose the right Dutch tutor for my child?
It's simple to find the perfect match. You can browse tutor profiles, read reviews from other parents, and watch their introductory videos to get a feel for their personality and teaching style. You can also message tutors before booking to discuss your child's specific needs and goals.
What if my child doesn't get on with their first Dutch tutor?
We want to make sure you find the perfect fit, which is why we have our First Lesson Guarantee. If for any reason you don't get on with your first tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How much does a private Dutch tutor cost?
The cost varies depending on the tutor's experience and qualifications. You can see each tutor's hourly rate clearly on their profile, allowing you to find an experienced tutor who fits your budget. There are no hidden fees or complicated payment plans.
Are all the tutors background-checked?
Yes, your child's safety is our top priority. Every single tutor on our platform has passed an enhanced background check. We are very selective, accepting only 1 in 8 tutors who apply, so you can have complete peace of mind.
How does online tutoring work?
It's just like face-to-face tutoring, but more convenient! Lessons take place in our purpose-built online classroom, which features a video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and the ability to share documents. All your child needs is a laptop or computer and a stable internet connection.
How can a tutor help my child build confidence in speaking Dutch?
One-to-one lessons provide a safe, supportive environment for your child to practise speaking without the fear of making mistakes in front of a class. Tutors use encouragement and positive feedback to help your child feel more comfortable, which is often the key to unlocking their confidence.
Is Tutorful just for academic subjects like Dutch, or can we find tutors for hobbies too?
We offer tutoring for a huge range of subjects and skills, not just for school. Whether your child wants to learn to play the guitar, get into coding, or develop their creative writing skills, you can find an expert tutor to help them pursue their passion.
My child just wants to learn conversational Dutch to speak with family. Is that possible?
Of course. That's a wonderful goal, and our tutors can create a tailored lesson plan focused entirely on practical, conversational Dutch. They can make learning fun and relevant, helping your child connect more deeply with their family and heritage.
How long are the lessons and how often should we have them?
Lessons are typically one hour long, which we find is the perfect amount of time to cover a topic in depth without losing focus. Most students have one lesson per week, but you can arrange a schedule that works best for your child and your family with your chosen tutor.
How does online tutoring work?
Our Dutch tutors come from a wide range of backgrounds. Many are native speakers, university graduates in languages, or experienced teachers. You can view each tutor's specific qualifications, experience, and certifications on their profile to help you make an informed choice.
