Parents want what’s best for their children, including helping them choose a career path that will lead to a happy and successful life. However, with so many options available, it can be difficult for parents to know where to start when it comes to career ideas.

When considering what jobs are in demand in the UK, they are often not ones that parents would even consider for their children. With such sizeable changes happening in the world right now, in particular climate change, water and food shortages, and the Coronavirus pandemic, modern workplaces are looking for new skills to tackle these challenges. Growth sectors currently in high demand include healthcare, science and innovation, information, and digital technology.

Other good jobs that pay well include cyber security, software development, and robotics engineering!  That said, more traditional roles such as teachers and care workers are also experiencing substantial labour shortages currently.

With so many options available, how can you make the best decision for the future? As well as looking at jobs in high demand, one way to narrow down your choices is to consider your interests and strengths and marry these up with the requirements of popular careers – you may find you are suited to several you have never considered before.

You cannot over-research! Be as prepared as possible!
