What makes this different from your self-employed tutor programme?
As an employed tutor, you'll have a fixed term contract with holiday pay, competitive rates, and employment protections. You'll be part of a small dedicated team rather than our wider marketplace, with more structured support and training.
Why focus specifically on GCSE Maths?
GCSE Maths is one of our highest demand subjects, and we want to provide consistent, high-quality support for these crucial exams. By focusing on this specific area, we can ensure our employed tutors become true specialists in GCSE curriculum delivery.
What are the working hours exactly?
We're looking for availability 2 evenings per week between 4pm-8pm, Monday to Thursday. You'll have flexibility within these hours, and there are opportunities for additional weekend sessions if you're interested.
What qualifications do I need?
You'll need Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), minimum 1 year of classroom maths teaching experience, in-depth knowledge of GCSE maths curriculum, and an Enhanced DBS check dated within the last 2 years (or be on the update service).
How many students will I teach in each session?
Sessions will typically range from 1 to 4 students. You'll create and plan lessons based on each student's individual needs while following the national curriculum for GCSE maths.
What happens after the 3-month contract?
The initial 3-month fixed term contract gives both you and Tutorful the opportunity to ensure it's a great fit. After this period, there's the potential to move into a permanent salaried role based on performance and mutual agreement.
