I am a Professional Freelance Musician based in Leeds, being called upon to play for various recording sessions, gigs, shows and festivals. Having graduated from Leeds College of Music in 2016 with a First Class Honours degree in jazz, I have been studying music for 13 years.
Whilst at the conservatoire, I won a variety of prizes including the Jazz Originality Competition, the conservatoire prize for BA Music – Jazz in all three years of my studies for receiving the highest mark in my year and I was a featured soloist at Manchester Jazz Festival in 2016 with the Leeds College of Music Contemporary Jazz Orchestra.
I am currently a woodwind tutor and ensemble leader for ArtForms, Leeds, teaching students between the age of 10 and 70 years old, working towards classical and jazz grades, developing ensemble skills, but most importantly having fun with music. I understand that each student has different goals when studying music. Whether it’s practicing to go on to study music at higher education level or whether it’s just for personal gratification, I tailor each one of my lessons to suit every student.
Outside of teaching, I am involved with various projects. From this summer alone I have played at sold out venues such at the infamous Jazz Café in London, played with The National Youth Jazz Orchestra and headlined festivals around the UK.
As a polite, approachable and reliable person, I work hard to achieve the best outcome for all students. I am a passionate believer that everyone should have equal opportunities to be able to release their inner creativity and to have the option to pursue a creative career path if they desire.
Very good teacher, and very patient as well!
Daniel is a very good tutor, very flexible and patient as I am a first timer. Definitely worth the money.
