Hi there, I am a Bristol based musician performing around most of the South West of England and Wales. After gaining my Grade 8 Harp certification in Hong Kong in 2007 I moved to Cardiff to study Popular Music and Drama. I continued to perform during this time and am regularly gigging and recording with a number of musical groups. I have been teaching as a music coach since graduating from university, but from 2014 I started working as a full time self-employed musician. I currently teach piano, voice and recorder in eight primary schools around South Gloucestershire as well as taking some sessions at the Bristol Rock Project. My own music education was centred around ABRSM exams so I am very familiar with the syllabus including music theory and exam technique, however a lot of my students prefer a more casual approach which I am happy to do. My teaching experience ranges from one on one sessions to small group to larger choirs groups, including both male and female pupils across a large range of ages. I also conduct orchestra rehearsals for the Bristol Fantasy Orchestra as well as performing with them on the harp, piano, and vocals.
My current timetable is based around school hours (9am-3:00pm) and I perform in several bands but I am available most days in the hours after school or evenings in some cases. I give private lessons in my home in Southville/Bedminster area and I have used my Roland FP-50 electric piano or acoustic guitar to teach with, or an advanced student pedal harp (Aoyama Etude 46) for harp lessons. I'm also willing to travel to students homes to teach.
