I am a qualified secondary science/physics teacher, holding a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I gained these qualifications after having completed a Graduate Training Programme (GTP) at The Farnborough Academy in Clifton, Nottingham in the academic year 2012-2013. I have qualifications in all sciences and maths at GCSE and A-Level. I completed a BSc Physics with Astronomy degree at the University of Nottingham in 2011, passing with honours in the higher second class.
I have experience of teaching secondary science/physics since 2011. I have taught all year groups from 7-13 following the following exam boards and specifications: at GCSE, AQA Science, OCR 21st Century and OCR Gateway specifications (all including higher tier and triple/trilogy content); at A-Level, AQA Physics.
In 2016, I set up my own tuition company and currently operate this on a part-time basis in tandem with another part-time (non-teaching) job. I was drawn to tuition rather than teaching as I feel it enables me to better help students on an individual basis. This level of help is often difficult to offer in a classroom environment, which can be very frustrating for both the teacher and students. A further advantage to tuition is that it allows me more control over my working hours, which in turn allows me much more flexibility in being able to plan quality lessons for the students I teach. This is so rewarding and I feel honoured to be in a position to be able to offer this to my clients.
