I am a huge fan of language learning and teaching and German is my passion! I studied at the University of Exeter, where I received a first-class honours degree. I then moved on to study my PGCE and since then have been teaching at an outstanding secondary school, the majority of those seven years having been as Head of German.
I am an enthusiastic, well-organised, creative and supportive teacher. I relish the opportunity to help students achieve their goals, whatever they may be. I have a broad range of experience in teaching children at KS2, KS3, KS4 and A-level across the spectrum of ability and thrive on the kick I get from having successfully delivered a well planned lesson, knowing that my students are making progress.
Since having my son, I have been taking a break from classroom practice in order to support my family and pursue my interest in private tuition. Working one-to-one and tailoring my teaching style is such a pleasure and I am fortunate enough to have worked with a variety of students in both age, ability and needs – among others for example, a student crossing the D/C border at GCSE to a mature student boosting German for business purposes.
I hope I can help you to achieve your goals with German study and can offer not only my linguistic expertise and professionalism but also push you forward by being an enthusiastic and motivating tutor!
Sarah helped me learn my Best Man speech in German for my brother's wedding. I'd never learnt German before but Sarah helped me feel more confident by helping me with the pronunciation and sentence structure. Sarah was really friendly and that really helped. The speech went well and my brother was really impressed! Thanks Sarah!
One word: Superb!!!

I look forward to each lesson!
