I am a personable, engaging and creative History Master's graduate (University of Warwick, class of 2014) Possessing experience in educational work with primary-age children in addition to strong public-speaking skills, my enthusiasm for the subjects which I studied at A-Level and beyond is one of my key strengths. I am available to tutor anywhere within a 20-mile radius of Brighton and can be very flexible with times.
I am offering tutoring in History and English Literature, for which I hold A-grades at A-level. I also offer tertiary-level tutoring for History, and Politics tuition from GCSE to degree level.
My knowledge base is both deep and broad, especially for History, in which I hold a first-class BA Honours degree from the University of Warwick, and I am thorough and innovative when it comes to lesson planning.
Matthew has been tutoring my son in History A level for two weeks and has already made a positive difference. My son feels that the sessions have been very helpful indeed. We look forward to continuing our sessions with Matthew.
When I asked my son how his first lesson with Matt went, he was very positive. He's had tutors before, and the answer was usually "It was ok". He has elaborated since then, telling me that Matt covers a lot of ground during the lessons in a very clear and understandable way, adding that he feels he's gained a more thorough and insightful understanding of his subjects (A Level Eng Lit and History).
My teenage son was not keen to have a tutor but really enjoys his English lessons with Matthew. Matthew is thoughtful and plans thoroughly, a lovely person. He is engaging and has enriched my son's school lessons. My son now has a deeper appreciation of literature, as well as a new love of creative writing.
