I am an enthusiastic first year music student at The University of Sheffield. I have studied classical Flute, Piccolo and Harp at The Junior Royal Northern College of Music for the last three years, where I was also a member of the JRNCM Woodwind Ensemble. As well as my formal training I have been heavily involved in folk music and world fusion music. I'm a member several groups from a traditional folk ensemble to experimental folk, and Indian music ensemble. In addition to this I play piccolo for The Sheffield University Symphony Orchestra. I would be happy to teach piccolo alongside flute and similarly, I can offer theory tuition separately or in conjunction with flute lessons. I do believe studying music theory helps support and deepen understanding of the music they are learning.
Although my main interests lie in folk/world music and classical, I like to be open as possible and encourage my pupils to find a style that really interests them and support them in developing it! I am willing to teach in a format that suits the pupil, whether that be casual or disciplined manner, guided by their musical ambitions.
I'm fairly flexible with time, please do not hesitate to contact me to ask any further questions!
