I am a career scientist with a proven record of successful student mentoring. I have taught large classes and mentored in one-on-one environments at GCSE, A-Level and Degree level for the last ten years while studying and performing research. Several of my previous students moved into different degrees of higher education including PhD positions. I am a passionate tutor and love talking to students about the wonders of the natural world. Through my teaching experiences I have developed a dynamic and personable pedagogical philosophy that enables me to engage with different students in optimal ways, essentially tailoring my teaching to a way each student finds most comfortable.
I have an upper second class degree in biology, an MSc & Diploma in Advanced Methods in Biodiversity and Taxonomy and completed my PhD in Integrated Bioscience in 2013. Since then I have had several short term post-doctoral positions during which I have Taught, Mentored and been involved with public outreach in the promotion of Science.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions about how I may be able to help with your specific needs.
