Hey everyone! I'm Dennis, a 23-year-old Mathematics student at the University of Hull, currently in my second year. Maths is "the language of the universe", it is something I have a real passion for, and I love to share my passion for the subject to the younger generation in the hope that they will see and benefit from it. I am very well rounded and can teach anything from Primary School up to A-Level Mathematics, as well as GCSE Science and A-Level Physics.
I have experience in tutoring voluntarily. I have helped a lot of my peers and family friends grasp a good understanding of the subject and many have actually entered University due to this, which I am very proud of. It is due to this that I enjoy tutoring, as it is a very self-fulfilling job indeed.
My main aim is not to cram the student with loads of information, but more to change their mindset on Maths, as it is apparently not the most popular subject. Once they see why I love the subject and my approach to teaching, they will learn more because they will start to enjoy it also. I like to use diagrams and little props that can help engage the student's mind, whilst keeping them involved by asking a lot of questions instead of just showing them solutions. I find this is the most effective way to teach.
Really good tutor, managed to step the things I found tricky down to the basics and now I understand how to do probability really well! Totally worth the money and time, already see an improvement and I’m sure my grade will increase if the lessons keep being similar to how it was today.
