I am an Italian native speaker language professional based in Glasgow, with seven years experience in private teaching of Italian and English as a foreign language, and four of Portuguese as a foreign language. Following my B.A. in translation and dialogue interpreting, and an M.A. in Cooperation for development in Italy, I worked in a language school as an English teacher of A1 to B2 levels, as well as for education projects in disadvantaged areas. Besides, I had fun teaching English and Italian in a nursery school for a bilingual project.
I believe education gives freedom and improves lives, that is why teaching and tutoring is for me very pleasant, motivating and formative. It is important for me to achieve the highest standard possible every hour and notice the learners' positive feedback. I always tailor the class to the students' needs, motivating them and offering personal support, mainly based on empathy to let them set their targets, gain confidence, develop their skills and achieve excellent results.
I am keen on languages and I think teaching and learning them is one of the most powerful and privileged means to discover new cultures and really understand them. My lessons are interactive, varied and articulate. I focus on the students' abilities through subjects such as literature, cinema, music, art, current affairs, and ethics, using current research and information, constantly reflecting on my work with the students to bring out the best in them.
Sandra is a great teacher. She is very resourceful and goes out of her way to research things and give advice. She is very patient, friendly and approachable.

Absolutely brilliant. Sandra was really lovely she made my daughter feel really comfortable during their lesson and covered everything that she needed to know.
Would without doubt use this service again.
