Bonjour, bonsoir! My name is Marie-Gabrielle, and I am here to help you with your French! I was born and raised in France, but I’ve also lived in Germany and Belgium, and now the United Kingdom! I’ve always been really interested in languages, speaking four of them and learning a fifth currently. I am a second year English Literature and Creative Writing student at Newcastle University, and I would love to use my free time to share my native language.
I have gained experience last year by helping A-Level students from Sacred Heart School with their French, meeting them every week to improve their speaking skills specifically, but also their writing skills. I have otherwise graduated from the Literary Section of the French Baccalaureate with the highest honours, with 18.5/20 average (20/20 in French Literature, 19/20 in Philosophy).
I am a happy and positive person, always eager to speak about my culture, my language and my country. I am particularly interested in literature, having studied and still studying in depth French and English literatures.
I will adapt my tutoring to each student depending on their skills and their goals. I primarily provide teaching through discussions and dialogues, believing that it is by speaking a language that one can learn it the best. I can help prepare for exams, or simply help with homework. Finally, I really strive to make the tutoring as interactive as possible, referring frequently to the France of today including the recent news, movies and books, to make the language as lively as it is today!
It would be a pleasure to hear from you!
An excellent tutor, well organized, dynamic. I feel confident already after just two lessons. I would highly recommend her for anybody who is keen to learn French.
