My name is Alessandra and I am native Italian.
As flutist I start playing the flute at the age of 10. I obtained an M.A. in Flute at the age of 18 from the Conservatory PL da Palestrina of Cagliari in Italy.
I achieved in 2003 a B.A. in Chamber Music from the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome.
I have been teaching flute, piccolo and music theory for over 15 years at public and private schools, delivering private lessons and group classes to pupils of all ages and all levels. I hold the UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), and I am able to prepare students for the ABRSM examinations.
As Italian teacher I have almost 8 years of experience teaching Italian language (grammar, literature, history and geography) in the Italian secondary school as a classroom teacher and in individual lessons.
I hold an MA in Art history at the University of Rome.
I am a flexible, passionate and friendly teacher. I have the highest commitment to teach, shaping my lecturing style on the individual needs and interests of the student(s). With adults, I also focus on the student's personal goals, encouraging and supporting a sustained engagement with the studies and constant progression.
I teach at home and I am the Italian teacher in two Language schools of Newcastle, but I am available to meet the student and teach at the student's house, provided it be in Newcastle upon Tyne and the travel expenses be covered.
My music lessons may also include music theory, should this be needed.
I can teach in English, Italian, and Spanish.
Alessandra is a passionate friendly tutor who caters lessons to the individual’s needs and has a very pragmatic approach. I always look forward to my weekly Italian lesson and have never felt differently during the course of my studying with her.
