I'm a Third Year Music student at the University of Sheffield and am a classical pianist specialising in 20th century repertoire, able to teach new students in either a casual or disciplined manner depending on preference. I can also teach music theory, both separately and in conjunction with piano lessons. Teaching music theory alongside piano prepares students for further goals in music and helps them to properly understand and enjoy the music they are learning as they improve, and as such I heavily recommend approaches to learning that incorporate music theory.
I am currently studying piano under concert pianist Ben Frith and also study composition and musicology. In my first year at university, I was awarded the Julian Payne Prize 2015-16 for best performance of study on an undergraduate programme involving music. Since then I have composed for orchestra and studied under Professor Stephanie Pitts, who specialises in music education.
