Given the current COVID situation, and our attempts at home schooling usually ending tears, we felt it best to get some outside help for our 6/7 year old son, to give him some confidence before moving from year 2 to year 3. All I can say is we're glad we found Sian! She has been an absolutely fantastic tutor for our son. She quickly understood his current abilities and where she felt he needed to be, and focused on those areas. She was more than happy to answer any questions we had and explained the techniques she was using and why (it quickly became apparent our approach was 20ys out of date, hence the tears!). Given his very short attention span she took the time to get know him and his interests and tailored classes around those interests. Our son now feels a lot more confident, less worried and enthusiastic about starting year 3 next term. We're based in England whereas Sian is based on Scotland so the classes were held remotely. I highly recommend Sian as tutor and will certainly be using her in future!
