I recently took early retirement to do something new - online tutoring and delivering Science to local Primary schools with my barn owl, kestrel and peregrine falcon. I've taught in a mainstream school for almost 20 years and then went to work for 5 years in a Pupil Referral Unit, working mostly with students with medical conditions but also with those who had been permanently excluded from school. These lessons were conducted on a small group basis or one to one, sometimes at a student's own home or even using a weird robot over the internet! My lessons are flexible, likely to run off a little...

After an engineering career in Electronics and Computing,I became a teacher first of all in 2007.I worked in Further and Higher Education at my local College. I taught Electronics, Maths and other Engineering course modules at Level 3 (BTEC/A Level) and Level 4 (Foundation degree).I left the College in 2012 and went back into the real world of industry until recently.Although I had come to it quite late, I realised that teaching was the best job I had ever had.But now rather than put myself at the mercy of the government and the education system, I decided to try this avenue for getting my teaching...

I enjoy Mathematics greatly, having studied both Maths and Further Maths at A-Level, also while I was at sixth form I took part in working as a classroom assistant in Year 8 Maths lessons, which gave me valuable experience at teaching students. I took part in another programme which taught the elderly how to be computer literate, these two experiences have given me very different skills to utilise whilst teaching. In my experience as a one-on-one tutor I have usually found my best strategy is to utilise examples, both ones I work through myself and others I assist my students in working through,...

I am a great believer in lifelong learning, however I know that learning does not always come easily.Everything worthwhile is worth working for ,sometimes some company on the journey makes all the difference. I have experience of teaching and tutoring on-line, enabling students to achieve their goals.I would be happy to facilitate your learning.Learning is some times hard work but it doesn't need to be a chore. Together we can look at your learning preferences and create bespokelearning experiences.I have spent my working life earning my living from Science, and so I have many real life examples...

Hi, I'm Leana. I've just graduated from the University of Bristol with a First Class Honours in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (BEng). I have had past experience teaching kids in both GCSE and A-Levels. As a friendly and patient young adult, I often find that students find it easy to relate to me, encouraging them to be confident throughout their lessons so we can get the best results from their studies.Having taken four subjects during the first year of A-levels, I understand the stress of school and the frustration when topics become difficult. I myself had struggled in previous years...

I have a degree in Physics and I am the Head of Physics at a comprehensive school. I’ve been teaching KS3, GCSE and A-level Physics for 14 years. I’ve helped many students gain Grade 9s and Grade 8s at GCSE. Last year my son got a grade 9 in Physics as well.My students say I’m funny and should have been a stand up comedian. My explanations are clear and easy to understand. Having been an examiner in the past, I have a very good understanding of what is required to do well in exams. I place a lot of emphasis on developing exam technique and will help my tutees improve their exam technique by pr...
