I believe that anyone can be brilliant in any subject. What often prevents young people from reaching their full potential is often a lack of engagement and dry, blunt presentation of information with little context. That is why I aim to adapt to the needs student, rather than to try and force students to do what's easiest for me. By presenting examples and analogies to work through difficult areas, I believe that even the most dry subject can be made accessible and easily digested.I have been tutoring for over two years, and in that time I have strived to continue improving my teaching and subject...

Go, R and Ruby in my programming). Around 15 years ago I decided to train to teach and did my PGCE in ICT & E-learing. Since then I have taught Computer Science, Maths and Business Studies. I have worked at numerous levels (including training for headship) in education including training numerous Computer Science teachers across the UK. I have...

I'm a graduate of the University of Edinburgh, where I earned a Master of Informatics, First Class. For my dissertation, I adapted a neural model of the insect brain to build a dung beetle biorobot -- yes, you read that right! I even received a grant to pit my creation against real dung beetles in South Africa. The robot rolled away victorious, but rest assured, no beetles were harmed in the making of this story. My teaching skills were first sharpened in the battle trenches of the university classroom, where I was trained and employed to tutor 1st- and 2nd-year informatics courses: in total, 11...
