Building up your life skills is an important part in preparing for A-levels and starting to build the perfect CV. Whether learning skills at home to taking some of our Tutorful life skills lessons, learning life skills prepares you for life away from home and boosts confidence levels.

Learning household skills

Learning basic household skills really helps young people to find their confidence. You can improve decision-making and develop common sense by learning tasks such as washing clothes, cooking food or even changing a lightbulb!

The job-hunting process

Job hunting itself is a useful skill to learn as is CV and cover letter writing. It will help give you confidence in your abilities, as well as provide an advantage over candidates in the future.

Personal, social, and emotional skills

Young people are often ill equipped to deal with challenging situations such as dealing with conflict, staying organised, and dealing with failure.  Learning how to navigate different types of situations is essential for success in life, work or relationships and so widening the groups you surround yourself with through volunteer work gives you lots of experience in these key areas.
