In these sessions, we will explore the themes and context of ‘The strange case of Dr Jekyll and My Hyde. What life was like in the Victorian times and how science and religion often clashed with each other during this period and how this affected Dr Jekyll.

Session 1
60 mins
This week, we will look at life in Victorian times and how reputation meant everything.
Session 2
60 mins
During this session, we will look at how secrecy affected Dr Jekyll and those around him. It will also look at good and evil before and after the potion is taken.
Session 3
60 mins
This week will look at science and religion. Furthermore, how these topics would clash and how Dr Jekyll was affected by this.
Session 4
60 mins
In the final week, we will explore the narrative and look at how the novella is ‘gothic.’
