Rounding… one of those things that comes up EVERYWHERE in maths. This is a two-session class, where we’ll be focusing on whole numbers in lesson 1 and decimals in lesson 2. The aim is to help your child understand these maths concepts that they’ll need to know for their SATs exams (and in general, their maths classes going all the way to GCSE and beyond).
In our first session we’re going to be looking at rounding whole numbers. Which means we’ll be rounding to the nearest ten, hundred, thousand… and beyond!
Now that we’ve established the rules of rounding, we’re going to apply it to our decimal numbers. Meaning we will be rounding to the nearest tenth, hundredth… and also to the nearest whole number.
I work with children aged 6-10, in a Montessori school. Previously I have been both a leader within Girl Guiding, and a Session's Overseer at Butterflies Haven (a charity helping families with children on the autism spectrum).
