If you are moving into KS2 or preparing for the KS1 phonics check this class is for you. Let's boost that phonics knowledge and get some extra practice using the phase 2, 3 and additional sounds in a fun and interactive lesson for all primary-age readers looking to embed their phonic skills.

Class content
Session 1
30 mins
Let's practice the sounds for the KS1 phonics screening check. How many can you score out of 40? We will practice reading, drawing and using the trickiest sounds in the assessment.
Session 2
30 mins
Phase 2 and phase 3 sounds! Let's use these sounds and do some speedy reading. Mics on for this lesson as everyone will be reading to each other. We recap the sounds in our sounds chart and then play games using a selection of phase 3 sounds.
Session 3
30 mins
Are these alien or real words? Let's recap our sounds from the last lesson and introduce a few more on top. We finish with some alien word reading to check all our practiced sounds.
Session 4
30 mins
Tricky word time. We look at the red words that we can't use our phonics for. as always we recap our phase 2 and 3 sounds but take it a step further and embed the words that just don't fit in with our phonics chart. How many can you read in our fun interactive games?
