As we get older, our lives get increasingly busy, there are more demands on us and more expectations that we feel we need to meet. In this course, we will look at strategies to help when we feel overwhelmed. You will have the opportunity to try some out and decide which ones you want in your toolkit.

What is Mindfulness? How can it help me? In this session we will introduce the idea of mindfulness and how it can help us to manage our emotions. We will talk about our own examples of situations where we feel unsure or overwhelmed and I will share some strategies to try out over the next week ready to share our thoughts in the next session.

Finding calm in the crazy - in this session we will be looking at the part our thoughts play in the way that we feel in certain situations. We will be exploring ways to challenge our thoughts and to re-frame them so that we can remind ourselves that we have got this thing called life!

Switching up our physical energy - in this session we will be looking at how our physical environment and things like movement can make a difference to the way we feel in overwhelming situations. We will look at some strategies to try to calm our minds and switch up our energy.

Embedding our strategies in our everyday lives - In this final session, we will be talking about how we can embed the strategies that we have learnt into our day to day lives. How can we make these into habits? Where can we keep these ideas so that we can use them for when things get busy and overwhelming?
I aim to make my sessions personalised to your child's needs and to also create an environment where the pupil feels comfortable enough to challenge themselves and realise their potential.
