Being in a busy environment like a school, especially in the lead-up to big events and big changes can be quite a challenge for lots of young people. This course will provide strategies to help bring an element of calm back to each day.
What is Mindfulness? How can it help me? In this session, we will introduce the idea of mindfulness and how it can help us to manage our emotions. We will talk about our own examples of situations where we feel unsure or overwhelmed and I will share some strategies to try out.
Mindfulness strategies and ideas to try - focusing on our thoughts and feelings. In this week we will explore some more strategies linked to our thoughts and re-framing them when we feel anxious or worried. I will share some more strategies to try and you can choose which ones you want to try throughout the week.
Ways to change our energy to help us feel calm - in this session we will look at strategies that focus on moving our bodies and changing our locations to help to bring our calm back. You will have the opportunity to try some of these out and see which work for you.
Embedding our strategies in our everyday lives - In this final session, we will be talking about how we can embed the strategies that we have learnt into our day to day lives. How can we make these into habits? Where can we keep these ideas so that we can use them for when things get busy and overwhelming?
