Welcome to Little Rockers Introduction to Guitar! Here we will take the very first steps of your journey to learning how to play. Learning in the fun and social environment of a group class setting, together we will know our instrument and how to play our first song for your first concert!
Monday 31st January at 4:30 PM 60 mins
The First Step - introducing ourselves to each other. Learning the reasons we all decided to pick up the guitar, and who our favourite rock stars are. Getting to know our instrument by learning the parts of the guitar and drawing a picture to remember.
Monday 7th February at 4:30 PM 60 mins
The Second Step - the next thing to learn about the guitar is the notes of the strings. To be able to tune our instrument, we need to know which notes each string is meant to be! Using fun and memorable rhymes we will try tuning our first string together.
Monday 14th February at 4:30 PM 60 mins
The Third Step - learning how to fret the strings properly is the next essential step to playing our first song together. Taking turns, with close attention to the technique we will each have a go at playing our first notes together before learning the first line of Happy Birthday!
Monday 21st February at 4:30 PM 60 mins
The Fourth Part - after learning the first line of Happy Birthday together in the session before, we will continue through the song learning the second and third parts. Again each taking turns to get equal attention and focus making sure we all can play it together!
Monday 28th February at 4:30 PM 60 mins
The Final Step - your first concert! We will finish off the song Happy Birthday by learning the fourth and final part all together. Then, each having your moment in the spotlight, you will get to play your first song all the way through for the group, turning you into a real rock star!
