In session 1 we will cover the core content of cell biology, extending your GCSE knowledge into A-level. Through the session you will learn the function of organelles from the Golgi Apparatus to the Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum. You will have the opportunity to try exam questions and have feedback on your answers.

In session 2 you will learn the function and tests for common biological molecules from carbohydrates and proteins to DNA and lipids. You will have the opportunity to try A-level exam questions and discuss any applicable exam techniques.

Session 3 covers an introduction to the circulatory system. You will learn the structure and function of the blood vessels as well as contraction of the heart. As always, you have the opportunity to apply your new knowledge to A-level exam questions and gain personalised feedback on your answers.

In session 4 we will look at biodiversity and its importance in the ecosystem. We will look at energy transfers and calculating the efficiency of energy transfers in the ecosystems. Being the marmite of all A-level topics this core knowledge will put you at an advantage, regardless if you end up loving or hating biodiversity!

In session 5 we will look at the core of all biology: Genetics! You will learn how the body uses DNA and its importance to our health. You will extend your GCSE monohybrid inheritance knowledge to include dihybrid inheritance.

In our final session we look at the role of proteins in our body, including cell receptors, enzymes and hormones. Test your knowledge with a final try of some exam questions before you start you A-level!
