How to Play Piano for Beginners
An interactive piano class for beginners. Develop a foundation of musical knowledge to play the piano. In the class, you will learn how to identify all the notes on a piano, how to play your first chords and how to play a whole song by yourself! This class will give you the foundation to learn your new instrument in a fun and interactive way.

Class content
Session 1

In our introduction lesson, students will become acquainted with their instruments. We will cover the notes on the piano, playing a major scale and how to play their first riff.
Session 2
45 mins
Lesson 2 will focus on learning what chords are, how to play them, and identifying the difference between major and minor chords.
Session 3
45 mins
By lesson 3 students will understand the fundamentals of chords and we will begin to learn our first song! Students will pick from a list of fun but challenging songs to practice playing.
Session 4
45 mins
By lesson 4 students will be able to play their first song and we will build on this by learning how to accompany themselves. Lesson 4 will be all about how to make melodies!
Session 5
45 mins
In lesson 5 students will learn a new song incorporating different melodies with both hands. Students will be using skills they have been practising from weeks 3 & 4 to bring together chords and scales to create an original song
Session 6
45 mins
Session 6 will be our show-offs. Bringing together all we have learnt during this course, students will be performing their original songs as well as the scales and keyboard theory they have learnt along the way!
