We’ll be looking at Shakespeare in a fun, lively and entertaining way, so that you’re more than ready to tackle any of his plays in your studies; everything from enjoying the jokes to learning the quotes. We will be focussing on the two Shakespeare plays - Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet- which are the most commonly studied as part of GCSE English Literature in KS4. We’ll be tackling quotes, looking at how to choose the most relevant ones, strategies for remembering them, and a memory task that will show you how easy it can be, and hopefully take the fear out of remembering quotes. We’ll have a quiz, where you will learn about how actors, and musicians such as grime and rap artists, have used, starred in or referenced Shakespeare’s works. At the end of the Unit, students will be provided with a well-chosen selection of relevant background material and study aids, including character and theme quotation sheets, and a 50-page digital study guide for each play, which really will be all you need to succeed up to GCSE level and beyond ! This Course is accessible and differentiated for dyslexic students and other students who have a neurodiverse way of learning. It will be interactive, but you can join in as much or as little as you want. Students will be given a full schedule of what to expect in each class, with relevant accompanying notes or handouts. And there’s space during and at the end of every lesson to get extra individual tutor support. This is the last of three available units, with an option to sign up for the other two; So you can choose just this two- day self-contained unit, or sign up for either or both of the three other weekly units.
