In this course, students will learn everything they need to successfully analyse, compare and contrast unseen poems for their GCSEs. The course is suitable for all abilities; it will begin by building foundational knowledge but will also stretch and challenge students to engage with more complex language and structural analysis.
In this session, students will learn the basic tools to allow them to analyse any poem - no matter how tough. The session will consolidate this knowledge by collaboratively using these methods to analyse some example poems.
In this section, students will learn how to analyse poetic language including how to identify imagery and symbolism in order to understand an unfamiliar poem.
In this session, students will learn the differences between Form and Structure, as well as how to analyse both elements effectively.
In this lesson, students will learn about how to conceptualise their answers in order to hone their exam technique on this subject. This session will also consolidate the course and will allow students ample opportunity to explore the skills they have learned.
