Grade 1 ABRSM Music Theory
Do you want to gain an ABRSM music theory qualification? Then look no further. This series of ten classes will go through the concepts of grade 1 music theory step by step.

Class content
Session 1
60 mins
The first session will be an introduction to the class and details of what will be studied across the lessons. We will then cover time values, bars and time signatures.
Session 2
60 mins
For the second session we will cover letter names of notes, staves, clefs, writing on a stave and ledger lines.
Session 3
60 mins
For the third session we will cover sharps, flats and naturals, semitones, tones and the scales of C major.
Session 4
60 mins
For the fourth session we will cover scales, keys and the cycle of fourths.
Session 5
60 mins
For the fifth session we will cover rests, as well as tied and dotted notes.
Session 6
60 mins
For the sixth session we will cover degrees of a scale and tonic triads.
Session 7

For the seventh session we will be covering intervals and grouping.
Session 8
60 mins
For the eighth session we will be covering performance directions and looking through the grade one workbook.
Session 9

For the ninth session we will be looking through a past paper and covering exam technique.
Session 10
60 mins
In the final session we will look through past papers as well as how to enter yourself in for the exam and cover any topics that students wish to recap.

- The class will be tailored to the interests and needs of the students.
- Our group classes are all held online in our learning space.
