Fun Summer Maths
This is a class for KS2 children who want to have some fun with maths. We will work on some fun problems together, practicing skills and keeping brains warm!

Class content
Session 1
60 mins
We will recap addition and subtraction at levels suitable for the children in the class. Then use this knowledge to play some maths games and solve some tricky maths problems together, increasing children's confidence in problem-solving.
Session 2
60 mins
Times tables day. We will focus heavily on times tables today, appropriate to the levels of the class. This will include different methods to remember times tables, times tables games/songs and competitions.
Session 3
60 mins
We will recap multiplication and division at appropriate levels for the children. Then we will use this knowledge and our times tables knowledge from last week to solve problems and play maths games.
Session 4
60 mins
Fun with fractions! Today we will recap understanding of fractions, reinforcing this by making our own fractions at home. (Warning parents, today could get messy!)
Session 5
60 mins
Shape - Today we will look at the properties of 2D shapes and 3D shapes. This will involve playing some shape games and making shapes in different ways. If age-appropriate we will also work on perimeter and area.
Session 6
60 mins
This session will depend on the previous 5, I will take feedback from the children and see what they would like to practice today.

I'm a qualified and experienced primary school teacher, currently working in Year 5. Though I can teach all primary years. I'm also happy to teach adults who need primary level knowledge.
