In this class we will cover several specific learning differences that you may have, or think you have, their characteristics, strengths and difficulties, and how to manage them whilst at school. We will dive into strategies that you can put in place to help you achieve your best in lessons, homework and exams.

How do you define a specific learning difference? What difficulties are faced when you are in class or an exam? We will explore the characteristics of these SpLDs: dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, attention deficit and autism spectrum disorder.

In this session we will cover the working memory. A hugely important part of learning, but everyone's is unique. Learn strategies to build your memory to help in exams and tests.

Now we move onto reading, a challenging topic for many people with a specific learning difference. We will explore strategies to assist with reading and comprehension, particularly for long sections of text.

Then we look at writing, whether handwritten or typed, we cover strategies to aid in spelling, structure, handwriting and typing.

Moving onto working with numbers, an area that most people find tricky! We will share tips and tricks and solidify strategies to aid in maths learning.

To finish, we cover the important area of organisation. Structure is important for day to day and long term goals but is also a common difficulty that we will develop strategies for using free software.
