Our purpose is to give students a wider understanding of their subject beginning Year 13. The subject will be introduced by considering curious features of Biology and connecting them to the first principles of the subject.

Session 1

Modern views on Sex and Genetics have influenced how we view Biology. How do those changes impact Biology at A Level?
Session 2

Evolution is quite clear isn't it? Recent studies have shown that many of our ""standard"" views of evolution are not correct and the new information influences how we understand Biology."
Session 3
60 mins
Respiration is key both at the level of gas exchange and at the level of intracellular biochemistry. We will discuss modern understanding of these processes and how they influence the areas of interest and activity of biologists.
Session 4
60 mins
You have lived through COVID. It was repelled by our modern understanding of immunology. We will investigate that understanding and discover the new approaches that arise because of this understanding.
