This class covers the fundamentals of creative writing from description to plot to form. Together we’ll find the fun when writing in a classroom setting and understand how to get good marks for creative writing. Students will get individual feedback on their work. All confidence levels welcome!

In this first session we deconstruct description, looking at what makes a compelling piece of descriptive writing. Students will evaluate what makes pieces of creative writing effective and do some descriptive writing of their own.
Wednesday 27th October at 5:00 PM 60 mins
In session two we break down the building blocks of a plot. Students will discuss what makes an effective opening and ending to a story, and will choose the plotting structure that best suits them to plan a story.
Wednesday 3rd November at 5:00 PM 60 mins
In this final session we'll discuss the different ways form can be used when writing in a classroom setting. This session also looks at the realities of writing in a classroom, including what to do when you get a boring prompt, what to do when you feel stuck, and how to manage your time.
